Frozen Fruit Smoothies are my go-to smoothie in the wintertime when the berry aisle at the grocery store leaves a little to be desired. And honestly, I’m a fan of frozen fruit year round. Frozen fruit is picked at the peak of it’s season and frozen right away, so it’s actually a great option any time of the year.
For this smoothie I used a combination of Strawberries, Peaches, and Blueberries. But any combination of frozen fruit, equalling 1 cup will work fine. And as you can see I went a little over 1 cup, but a little extra fruit never hurt anyone!
Place fruit in the bowl of a blender with some plain yogurt, orange juice, a touch of honey, and some ice cubes. It honestly couldn’t be easier!
Mix until thoroughly combined and enjoy the most delicious Frozen Fruit Smoothie you’ve ever had. I’ll take this any day over a smoothie from a restaurant chain. And you can make it in less time than it takes to drive your car to buy one.
Frozen Fruit Smoothie
Serves 2
6 ounces plain yogurt, not sweetened
1 cup frozen berries (Can use any type of fruit – I usually use equal amounts of strawberries, peaches, and blueberries.)
1/4 banana, peeled (freeze the extra for your next smoothie)
1/2 cup orange juice
3 tablespoons of honey (more or less to taste)
1 cup ice cubes
Place all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
