Creamy Orange Fruit Dip

934DF0B2-4DBA-4DE7-A16F-E63F06A7DDFD_1_105_c.jpegCreamy Orange Fruit Dip is my go-to fruit dip.  I’ve made it for every occasion from barbeques, to Super Bowl parties, to New Year’s Eve snacks, to school lunches, and everything in between.  Any way you serve it, you can’t go wrong.  Creamy Orange Fruit Dip tastes good with any fruit and lasts for several days in the refrigerator.

Here’s how it’s made!

Start by whipping some heavy cream until stiff peaks form (but not too stiff of peaks, or you will end up with butter).  Just stop beating when it looks about like this:

To the whipped cream, add light cream cheese, marshmallow fluff, orange zest, and orange juice (squeezed from the orange you just zested).

Zesting Citrus Fruit

Zesting citrus fruit is so much easier if you use a Microplane zester like this one.  It’s also doable using the fine side of a cheese grater, but the Microplane zester is my favorite way.  It keeps me from accidentally grating pieces of the white pith off of the rind of citrus fruits.  The pith is bitter and so it can change the flavor of recipes.  See in the photo how no white is visible on the rind…I love Microplane zesters!

Mix all ingredients until smooth.

Fruit Kabobs

A fun way to serve fruit is on small skewers or kabob sticks.

Hint:  Kids like to make and eat fruit kabobs.  If fruit is in a bowl, my kids sometimes take a hard pass, but when they see if on a stick it’s harder to pass up…

Enjoy, this one is a keeper!

Creamy Orange Fruit Dip

1 cup heavy cream, whipped
1 (8 ounce) package of cream cheese (I used 1/3 less fat cream cheese), at room temperature and cut into 4 large pieces
7 ounce jar of marshmallow creme
Zest of half an orange
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice

Using a hand mixer, beat the cream until stiffly whipped (but don’t go overboard or it will turn to butter). Next add the cream cheese, marshmallow creme, zest, and orange juice to the whipped cream, and beat until smooth. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with fresh fruit or fruit kabobs.

TIP:  This makes a lot of dip, but the dip lasts several days in the refrigerator and the recipe can also be easily halved.
