Apricot Nectar

by Emily Gutke Leave a Comment

This Apricot Nectar has been in my family for 4 generations! It’s fresh and delicious and has definitely earned a permanent place in our family. This past week my family had the chance to spend several days with my parents in rural central Utah. My youngest daughter went out early one morning and picked apricots from my dad’s orchard and he made us this apricot nectar for breakfast to go with my mom’s homemade biscuits. It took me right back to my childhood. There’s no place like home, even when you’re not even close to being a kid anymore.

If you’re like me and don’t have access to an orchard at home, it still tastes great made from apricots from the grocery store. Apricot season is short, don’t miss this chance to find a new family favorite and create memories with the people you love!

GREAT GRANDMA’S APRICOT NECTAR

2 ½ cups fresh apricots, pits removed (skins left on)
2 ½ cups milk
8-10 ice cubes (use more ice cubes if you like it thicker)
½ cup heavy cream
4 tablespoons granulated sugar, more to taste

Mix well in a blender until smooth and serve immediately.
